Obituary of Guy Dorman Pollard
Born December 27, 1950 at Roddickton, Nl. Parents: Wesley and Maud Pollard Raised in Hooping Harbour with his two brothers and four Sisters. He worked for awhile in Goose Bay before coming to Labrador City, where he was hired by IOCC in January 1973 and worked as a drill operator until 1977 when he started an apprenticeship to be a wielder which he completed in 1981 and he worked as a welder until he retired in 2003.
Guy married his soul mate and love of his life Reta on April , 1976. They moved into their home and started a family . They have three daughters whom he loved dearly, Karen, Amanda and Heather. And he treasured his grand children Leah, Scarlett ,Wesley and Griffin . They brought him so much joy. He looked forward to sleepover night with his beautiful boys. He loved his family and he lived his life doing everything he could for them. He was a hard worker and good provider a loving loyal and faithful husband He was an amazing dad and grandfather and he always wanted them around him. He stayed close to home over the pass year as he struggled with poor health. Through his worst days he still found time to laugh and brighten everyone’s day.
He leaves to morn his wife Reta of 47 years, his daughters Karen, Amanda(Brad),and Heather, his grand children Leah, Scarlett, Wesley and Griffin His sisters Doris Penney, Daphne Bursey, . Maxine Parsons( Graham Thomson) , Mona Gillard, brothers , Alonzo(Nancy) David(Cathy) Aunt Edna Randell, uncle Frank Randell and Aunt Ida Cassell, in laws Maxine Newman(Frank Maclaugjin) Robert and Margaret Gillard , Diana and Calvin Parrill, Helga Gillard and Hugh Rowlings, Douglas Gillard and Brenda Dawe. Many niece, nephews and cousins all of whom he remembers with love. Pre deceased by his parents, Wesley and Maud , His niece Kimberly, his parent in laws, Robert and Christina. He is greatly loved and will be so missed.
Visitation Will be held from 2:00-5:00pm on Monday January 1 2024 at Temple's Funeral Home. Funeral Service will a private event for the family of Mr. Pollard.
