To: Louise and the Andrew’s family We were sorry to hear of Roy’s passing, I have many fond memories of Roy when we were young. His mom was from Pacquet and of course Roy spent lots of time there when we were kids. One of my favourite memories was when we travelled by coastal boat, I think it was to St. John’s. Roy was the star on the boat everyone gathered around while he played the piano. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. God bless Ralph and Louise Gillingham

Uncle Roy could not have been a more amazing brother to my mother Patsy. And as I became an adult I learned how rare and special a person he was. I really enjoyed our occasional chats when he would always share with me his wise parenting advice. I have never met anyone as constantly kind. Sending my deepest sympathies to Louise, Ruth, Lorna, Lynette, Robert and their families.

We were saddened to hear of Roy's passing. Our condolences go out to Louise, Ruth, Lorna, Lynette and Robert, and their families. I pray that in the midst of your sorrow you find comfort in all the joyful memories you share. We have been all friends for years, but Jim remembers growing up across the road from Roy before he moved away. Our friendship may have been hindered by distance, but when Roy visited us in Nippers Harbour, or with one of the our many phone calls, the distance seemed to be non existent. It was as if we still lived across the road from each other. In those conversations and visits, we would catch up on all the recent news and reminisced about our early days. It was only 3 weeks ago (or so) that Roy called us one morning and we talked for almost a hour. Little did we know then, that it would be our last chat. Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, God Bless. He was the nicest, most loving man I've ever known. His devotion to his wife and children was unending. He was an incredible grandfather who will be missed forever. He always treated me like a part of the family. I am grateful to have known him for so long. He will live on in our fond memories of his silliness and pure kindness.
