Cindy always taught in the grade three hallway and I was in the grade two hallway, but the connection among all of us at AP Low is strong. Cindy and I would have chats about students that I’d sent on to her and she’d offer wise words of wisdom about handling those challenging children. I always knew which of my students needed Cindy when they went to grade three because of her firm but loving ways. But for me, Cindy was my go to mom person. Her boys, Jeffery and Jordan were similar to my Matthew and Evan. About the same age difference, hockey players and very much their mom’s boys. So when she offered me advice about my boys, I knew it was sound advice and that it came from experience. She told me about putting conforms in their bedroom drawers and about how they participated in some rather awkward rookie rituals at hockey. Perhaps the only time I disagreed with her advice was when she told me that she’d go in and clean up their rooms for them. I vowed I’d never do that, but of course, I do. Because to us moms, our boys mean so much that we’d never not do what they need. Watching Cindy push through this year in the pain she was in was both heart breaking and inspiring. She so desperately wanted to be there for her students as she always had been. She has made a lasting impression on us all and will live in the hearts of her AP Low family forever. I do know that if she were her to speak to us now, she’d hand us the tissue box and say « Take a tissue for each eye and then wipe away those tears. » So that’s what I’ll do because that’s what she’d want.

I was so fortunate to work closely with Cindy for many years in grade 3.I have so many warm memories. Her love, laughter, humour and smile filled our days. She was a wonderful teacher and a beautiful friend. She had a way of making everyone feel valued and appreciated. I will miss her greatly. Sending love to her family whom she loved so dearly.

Sending my deepest condolences to Cindy's family. The service was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. I have fond memories of Cindy. She was a great mentor and supporter when I first started teaching. I had the opportunity to work along side of her briefly for a replacement position in 2004 and I remember it well. She was wonderful to work with. She was helpful, kind and fun. She will be missed by so many.

During August 2021, Cindy dropped by Mom's and Dad's house at a garage sale we were having. We had a wonderful chat.
She picked up one of Mom's muffin pans (that was what she wanted) because it gave her good memories of Aunt Virtue. What a kind, caring and sentimental gesture.

Your mom, AP Low’s Ms White, was a dedicated educator who wanted only the best for her family and her students. She taught our little Remy last year and he loved her dearly. I have no words but I hope you know how special your mom was to me and how special your family is to us. I can’t imagine not being able to call for a chat and some words of wisdom! She took me under her wing when I started teaching grade 3 and from that mentorship grew our friendship - one I will cherish forever! I have so many wonderful memories - hold on to each other as you learn to live without her.

I am heartbroken to hear about Cindy. She was one of two women who started the Cancer Support Group for Women here in Lab West. There was only ever had handful of us that stayed pretty consistent with the group and that’s how I met her. She was such an amazing and inspiring woman and so strong. She was always very kind and willing to help anyone who was fighting the disease. I am so sorry for your loss. She will never be forgotten and my prayers are with the family and all who loved her.
