I remember back when I wrote for the Aurora; I'd be on the old macintosh in the back office at the mall and Peter would often pop in to bring a smile to everyones face. I can picture him poking around the corner to see what I was working on that day.
That is one of the fond memories I have of that office and working for the paper while home from attending my early years of university.
Peter certainly was a one of a kind, knowledgable man.

My thoughts and prayers have been with you as you mourn the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and friend. Uncle Pete faced months of treatments with courage & positivity. My hope is that you will be filled with bountiful blessings & comfort as you celebrate Uncle Pete’s life today.
May these words from Isaiah 41:10,13 give you encouragement and strength for today, and always:
"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;

Aunt Inez, Coralee, Janie, Diane and extended family,
We are deeply saddened by Uncle Pete's passing, and while we know there are no words that can ease the heartache of your loss, we are sending healing prayers and comforting thoughts during this difficult time. To Inez and family and the Blackmore Family. It’s with a great sadness to hear of the passing of Peter. We were fortunate to have gotten to know and spend time with Peter and family when they lived in Springdale for a few years. Peter ran the furniture store and we got to enjoy his company as we deliver furniture for him to help him out. He was a great guy and loved his girls so much. My condolences to you all. RIP Peter. Inez and family,
I was saddened to hear of Peter’s passing and beyond grateful for the opportunity to have known him. His passion and believe in people while showing kindness and gratitude for life was inspiring. I enjoyed hearing him tell a story that often left you thinking, could anyone be this pure and kind. The truth is, Peter had an angel like quality that was genuine, authentic and real. There was no one quite like him, and the world was better because he was in it. Although he is gone in person, I truly feel he is spreading his heavenly wings, guarding us all with his spirit while preaching the gospel of kindness and forgiveness.

The passing of our friend is heavy upon our hearts today. I remember the years Peter and I worked together at the IOC Concentrator. Such a work ethic that was commendable to all his team workers. To Inez & the girls.
Sorry to hear of Pete’s passing, but we rejoice that he has been ‘Promoted to Glory’. We first met in the early 70’s in Lab City and became very good friends, so today we have a lot of memories going through our mind. We shared some great times in each other’s home, good food, and lots of laughs. Also wonderful times at the church. Janie & Travis became good little buddies until we left in 1985 for the Training College.
In more recent years we drove back to Labrador a couple of times and it was great to reconnect with you guys. What a wonderful time we all had with you, and Trixie & Bill as we had ‘Brunch’ together at their home. Bill, our love and prayers are with you & yours today as well! We were introduced to Diane & her family and met the 2 beautiful grandchildren which Pete adored. They were his pride & joy, no doubt. We also had a few Tim’s together over great conversation.
We know that Pete loved his family, but he loved the Lord even more! He has now laid down his anchor in the peaceful harbour. So to Inez, Coralee, Janie & Diane our Prayer is that you will “Hold on to the Anchor - JESUS CHRIST, and don’t let Him go
The storm clouds will gather, and the thunder will roll; But you can be safe in the haven of God’s loving hand; Through all of life’s struggles that you don’t understand.
Be assured of our Love & Prayers for today & the coming days. God bless you all!

We first met Pete when he worked at the furniture store in Lab City at the Bruno Plaza. A very friendly man and had all the time in the world for us to make our purchase. Little did we know that this beautiful and humble man would be our son’s , father-in-law, and become part of our family. For me to tell all the stories about Pete, I would need a book. He appreciated the simple things in life and when ever I made fish cakes or salads his name was on the plate. He loved his family and was a role model to his grandchild. You will be missed cause heaven only takes the best. We are sending our sincere condolences to Inez, and all the families during this difficult time. RIP, Pete, and show them how to fish in heaven..
