Our sincerest condolences to Joyce, Kelly, Cindy and Rob. We just heard about Bob’s passing and our whole family is saddened by the news.
Bob and Joyce made Green Gables a better and more welcoming business all the years they ran it for us. Many customers became good friends, and miss them still, as do we.
Bob and Joyce were especially kind and supportive of our sons, patient with Dave and I, and generous with their hospitality to all.
The new culinary experiences that they introduced to us of moose meat, caribou sausages and cod tongues are a happy part of family memories. The boys still talk about it!
We regret losing touch over the years, and we are grateful to Bob and Joyce for answering that ad in the paper and enriching our lives.
We hope the very best for you Joyce and your growing family.
Hugs to all,
Laurie and Dave

I spent 10 summers working with Bob when he managed my parent’s cottages, Green Gables Bungalow Court in Cavendish PEI. He and Joyce made it so special for so many people, our family was grateful for how well they ran it. I have so many wonderful memories of Bob being an amazing manager, tinkering in the shed he used as his workshop and little haven, and cooking me and dad moose sausages and fried mackerel, much to dad’s delight whenever he smelled it coming. It was a joy to work with him and share a beer after a day’s work. I’m heartbroken to learn of his passing and wish Joyce and family all the best, my thoughts are with them. I’ll miss Bob very much.

TO Joyce and family I knew Bob when he was a replacement at the railway one summer and then again when I worked at the Mine Office Bldg. I talked to him almost every day and when I was overloaded with work, Bob always made me laugh and feel better. I know his wife and family were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed. I send my deepest condolences to you all and may he rest in peace. Karen Yates

I didn't know Bob for very long but in that short time I realized what a special, sweet man he truly was. He would do anything for his family, and that meant friends as well because if you were a friend you were family too. I will miss seeing him at the shelter, it will not be the same without "Earl". My thoughts are with Joyce, Cindy, Kelley and your extended family, I hope you can find peace in your memories and know that he is always with you.
